This book is the 3rd book in the Love Trippin’ series & I can testify that it can be read as a standalone because I haven’t read the previous books in the series。 But after reading this one I’ll definitely be reading the previous two 🥰 While this book has some funny moments it has some deeper themes of loss, trauma & overcoming challenges。 “The deepest injuries aren't those we can see with our eyes。 And those take the longest to heal。” I loved learning about pro surfing & the Hawaiian culture…。 Ohana is everything! It’s a perfect beach read… you don’t want to miss your chance to Catch a Wave!Bodhi & Kalaine were once the surfing “it couple” … they were two of the best surfers in the world until a tragic accident changes everything & life tore them apart。 Two years later Kalaine finds herself on her brother’s doorstep to beg him to let her crash at his place while she heals from a terrible surfing accident。 What she doesn’t plan on is her brother’s best friend/her ex-boyfriend Bodhi to be living there。 I loved watching these two overcome their challenges & find a way back to each other。 I love the thought that it’s not about being what they once were but moving forward & finding something new together。 Savannah beautifully describes the love of the ocean & just like the ocean ebbs & flows so will your emotions as get lost in this story。 I loved watching Kalaine overcome her fears as she learns to trust not only Bodhi but the ocean again… “Surfing never was who you were。 But it's what you love。 And you can love it again!” … "I stood there with her lapping at my feet, the foam was like the kind of kiss you get on a first date-careful and sweet。" … “Feelings are much like waves: We can't stop them from coming, but we can choose which one to surf。” ~ Jonatan MärtenssonIt’s just a beautiful love story… “I won't promise not to bend or sacrifice for you。 Life isn't about grabbing up our own joy and achieving our own goals at the expense of the people who matter most to us。"“I'd love to be the woman who teaches him that weakness is strength when it's shared with the ones we love。”“Choose your hills to die on。 Tacos aren't that hill。” 。。。more

Kalaine and Bodhi’s story is so cute! AHHH! This story was so so good! I loved the Hawaiian culture representation, the surfer culture, and the oh so achingly beautiful second chance romance。 Savannah Scott captured so many emotions and I fell in love with Bo & Mavs from the very beginning。 Their story was so raw and tender and I loved every moment。 There’s even a little dog, Shaka who steals the show whenever he’s mentioned, as well as all the familiar faces from the Love Trippin’ series。 This story struck the perfect balance between the need for healing and forgiveness with laugh out loud moments。 And the romance! Shoulder kisses anyone? It’s a story that had me glued to my kindle and I can’t wait to savor it all over again。Highly recommend to closed door romcom fans! It’s a definite favorite。 Though part of a series, it can be read as a standalone, but it’s more fun if you’ve read the previous books。 *Ben!* I received an advanced complimentary copy from the author but also purchased a copy through Kindle Unlimited。 All opinions are my own and voluntarily provided。 。。。more

Hands down the best second chance romance book I’ve ever read。 The plot and characters went so deep into another realm of authenticity。 I get a lot of “feels” when reading, but only two books have ever truly caused me to shed a tear before。 Until now…this book makes three。 The dedication alone is enough to make you misty eyed。 Kalaine (Mavs) and Bodhi…two super star pro surfers…riding the wave of love in a relationship that reads like a fairytale。 Until it doesn’t。 Tragedy strikes, disrupting the course of their lives。 Darkness and desperation overwhelm。 Then, two years after their relationship ended, Kalaine and Bodhi unexpectedly find themselves face-to-face on Marbella Island。 Kalaine is expecting to move in with her brother, but she gets the shock of her life when Bodhi is the one who answers the door。 Traumatic events left both feeling lost and confused。 Their relationship may have ended, but it certainly doesn’t feel finished。 I really hesitate to say too much more about the plot。 It’s one of those stories that you just need to read and experience for yourself。 Every little piece is going to draw you in。 Now that I’ve had the pleasure to really meet these characters and learn their story, the beautiful cover art means so much more to me。 I loved the way flashback chapters were woven throughout。 Absolutely captivating。 A stunning portrayal of forgiveness, grace and perseverance。 Inspiring friends, sibling and parental bonds will warm your heart。 Oh…and did I mention an adorable dog? It’s got that too。 😉 A beautiful story。 One that I can so easily see being turned into a film。 For more reviews and bookish content, be sure to follow me on Instagram at: aliciasbooksanctuary 。。。more

What a fun sweet romance! I grew up at the beach, although I never surfed, so a lot of this was familiar to me。 Bodhi and Mavs are such a sweet couple, and getting glimpses into their past a little a time made the story move along that much better。 Watching them work through their struggles and becoming friends after a horrible breakup was heartwarming, and I was cheering them on the whole time。 A great story about pushing through the hard times and coming back stronger。

Kalaine, a normally free-spirited pro surfer chick, is currently down on her luck because of a recent injury。 She has opted to take her brother’s offer of letting her crash at his place, not realizing he already had a roommate! This is roommate is the last person she thought she’d ever see, let alone help her with her recovery! This book does include essential flashbacks to help explain the dynamics between our leads and how they got to be the way they are in the present! These flashbacks make the emotional feel for the book a bit heavier than Savannah Scott’s previous works, but if you ask me, they enhance the overall story and bring it a greater depth of understanding how important these two characters are to each other! It was also fun to see some of the other fun personalities that can be found on Marbella Island again, like Ben and Phyllis! And always, Savannah Scott does a fantastic job of subtly hinting at who the protagonists for the next book are as well! 。。。more
Kayla,
Catch A Wave is a cute summer read that is a second chance romance, brother's best friend trope。 This is book 3 of the Love Trippin' series, but with that being said you do not need to read the others first, as they each follow the stories of different couples。 Stars: 4/5Spice: 0/10 (kissing)The book follows Bhodi and Kalaine and their story of a second chance romance from forced proximity。 The story takes place on Marbella a quaint little resort town after Kalaine fell during a surf competition Catch A Wave is a cute summer read that is a second chance romance, brother's best friend trope。 This is book 3 of the Love Trippin' series, but with that being said you do not need to read the others first, as they each follow the stories of different couples。 Stars: 4/5Spice: 0/10 (kissing)The book follows Bhodi and Kalaine and their story of a second chance romance from forced proximity。 The story takes place on Marbella a quaint little resort town after Kalaine fell during a surf competition。 The chapters go back and forth between each other's POV both current and flashback。 I was appreciative of the flashback's around how their relationship started, but I felt like it was missing quite a bit and left me looking for more。 Apart from the flashbacks we get to see Bhodi and Kalaine navigate both their own mental struggles from their past relationship and also their relationship with the ocean。 Bhodi and Kalaine are/were both pro surfers who both suffered dangerous falls and injuries while surfing。 They were forced to reconnect after Kalaine needed to rest and recover from her fall, and she agreed to do that at her brother's house。 The only problem was that her brother Kai was living with her ex boyfriend unbeknownst to her until she showed up at his doorstep。 They try to navigate this new living situation by awkwardly becoming friends, that very quickly started turning into rekindling their past relationship。 I'm all for those types of storylines, however with the lack of story building from the flashbacks and how quickly it was going in the present I felt like I was trying to make up the story in my head as I read along。 I will say that even though I found some downsides to the storyline I still recommend this book。 I think it's a perfect quick read especially for summer or when you just need something light and fun to read。 My biggest drawback from the book is the misspelling of the Hawaiian island, Kauai。 It was spelled Kawaii a couple of times, and while I don't normally pay attention to how things are spelled when reading, I feel like because it is an actual place and the FMC is Hawaiian it should have been caught and fixed。 Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing for providing me the opportunity to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review。 。。。more
Brittany Landrum,
Catch a Wave ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A sweet, closed-door romance。 After getting hurt surfing, Kalaine plans to move in with her brother while she’s recovering。 When she shows up on his doorstep, his best friend answers。 The problem- her brother’s best friend, Bodhi, also happens to be her ex。 Now living in the same house, will they be able to heal their past wounds and start over? I enjoyed this book。 I love a good second chance romance。 The characters were great and I’m glad we got to see past characters too。 Catch a Wave ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️A sweet, closed-door romance。 After getting hurt surfing, Kalaine plans to move in with her brother while she’s recovering。 When she shows up on his doorstep, his best friend answers。 The problem- her brother’s best friend, Bodhi, also happens to be her ex。 Now living in the same house, will they be able to heal their past wounds and start over? This book comes out on March 15,2024。 Be sure to add to your TBR list!! It will be a great summer read。 Thank you to NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op, this is my voluntary and honest opinion。 。。。more
Jennifer Marchione,
Savannah does it again! Holy smokes。 What a love story。 Magic。 Beautiful。 Wonderful。 Bodhi and Kalaine are pro surfers。 Their paths crossed again after a couple years。 I loved getting to see their past not just the present。 So much heart and love in this story。 I was laughing, crying, screaming and jumping up and down。 I always love a trip to Marbella Island and this one didn’t disappoint。 I can’t wait for the next! 4。25 starsThis sweet older brother's best friend, second chance romance was my favorite in the Love Trippin' series so far, with more depth and emotion than I was expecting。 In it we meet Bodhi Merrick, Ben's coworker at the water sports shack from the previous book, and his housemate and best friend, Kai Kapule。 Both are former pro surfers, and Bodhi used to date Kai's sister, Kalaine, before suffering an accident that caused him to shut down and push her away。 After Kalaine has a similar accid 4。25 starsThis sweet older brother's best friend, second chance romance was my favorite in the Love Trippin' series so far, with more depth and emotion than I was expecting。 In it we meet Bodhi Merrick, Ben's coworker at the water sports shack from the previous book, and his housemate and best friend, Kai Kapule。 Both are former pro surfers, and Bodhi used to date Kai's sister, Kalaine, before suffering an accident that caused him to shut down and push her away。 After Kalaine has a similar accident during a competition, she comes to stay with her brother to recover, not knowing that Bodhi has been living with her brother for the past two years。 Neither of the former couple are happy with Kai's deception, but try to be adults and move past the hurt as friends。 Bodhi was sweet and encouraging to Kalaine as she attempted to heal from her accident, and you could tell that he never stopped loving her。 I liked how Kalaine was strong and independent, and pushed back against Kai's overprotective instincts。 There is a lot of surfing terminology in this one, so it was interesting for me to learn about something I really didn't know much about, and you could tell that the author was knowledgeable about the subject。 I'm looking forward to seeing Kai's story next up, as we continue to branch away from the original Bordeaux group of young adults and into the Marbella island locals。 🩵 Thank you Savannah Scott for a copy of Catch a Wave to review。 。。。more
Allegra,
This book has all the feels and swoony moments。 I didn't even make it through the dedication without feeling all the feels。 It's been a long time since a book made me cry, and this one felt so real。 I will always and forever be a sucker for second-chance romances。 Add in a dose of brother's best friend, and I'm sold! The emotions evoked on the pages were a rollercoaster in the best way。 As always, Savannah transports you right to where the scenes take place。 The story felt so true to life with t This book has all the feels and swoony moments。 I didn't even make it through the dedication without feeling all the feels。 It's been a long time since a book made me cry, and this one felt so real。 I will always and forever be a sucker for second-chance romances。 Add in a dose of brother's best friend, and I'm sold!
